Covid-19 Vaccinations

FDA has now fully approved Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine.

If you have been sitting on the fence waiting for full approval it is time to get off the fence and get vaccinated.

Even though there are "breakthrough" cases of Covid 19 Viral Infection, vaccinations are proving to reduce the severity of the disease.

Face Coverings

Well, it's in writing now.

On August 23rd Face Coverings will once again be required for ALL persons, regardless of vaccination status, in most indoor public spaces, including restaurants.

"The governor also announced that the existing statewide mask mandate will be expanded to once again include vaccinated individuals in indoor settings effective Monday, August 23."
"The mask mandate will apply to most all public places across the state, including restaurants, grocery stores, malls and public-facing offices, regardless of vaccination status."

We will be following the mandate and will require that everyone wear a mask or covering.

On Thursday, the CDC also recommended people at higher risk due to occupational or institutional setting also be eligible for Pfizer booster doses Don't wait any longer - get vaccinated.
Covid cases are rising again

Face Coverings

Currently if you are fully vaccinated you are not required to wear a mask or face covering, however, with the increase in Covid cases the BFHD is strongly recommending that EVERYONE, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks/coverings in ALL public places. We are waiting written guidance on this matter.

Covid-19 Vaccinations and Mask Wear

Washington State has adopted the ambivalent stance that if you have not been vaccinated for Covid, you are required to wear a mask/face covering in public spaces, and that if you are fully vaccinated, you are no longer required to wear a mask/face covering in most settings. The state is delegating actual policies to local jurisdictions and business owners.
Due a lack of clear and precise guidance we will adopt an "Honor System" regarding facial coverings. If you are not yet vaccinated, we will assume that you will comply and wear a mask. If you enter with out a mask, we will assume that you are legally certifying that you are fully vaccinated.
Cloth Face Masks / Coverings DO Work

Face Coverings

when designed and worn properly DO reduce the amount of virus in the air. Less virus in the air means less chance of contracting a high enough viral load to induce illness.
The most effective cloth masks or covers are multi-layered, tightly woven fabric that create a snug fit across the nose, chin, and cheeks.
Proper wear means covering mouth AND nose (wearing on the chin IS NOT an example of proper wear). Cover the Beak!

Age and Health Do Not Ensure Safety

The Covid Virus

is everywhere now, and affects people in different ways. Some may not even notice that they have the virus. Some may only experience mild discomfort. Others may experience mild to severe symptoms which can include any or all of: fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, a loss of smell and/or taste (which may linger for some time), weakness, muscle pain, difficulty breathing, severe diarrhea, and more. Some effects may have an impact on people for long after the disease has passed.
This disease can affect people of all ages, gender, races, ethnicities, religions, and health conditions, and may be deadly to anyone.
